The purposes are, the keeper can deal with the ball directed to the goalpost and can improve keeper's mental so he can be more patient to keep his goalpost and he can control his emotion.
1. First, keeper must practice to estimate ball direction.
2. Keeper needn't so much stamina to keep his goalpost. The main prior that keeper needed is patience. If keeper can't control his emotion, definitely he'll lose his concentration.
3. The main weakness of keeper: If the ball bounce up exactly to left/ right top corner of goalpost. No matter how expert the keeper, he still find difficulty to deal with these.
This is keeper's training:
1. Every player take turns to kick the ball to keeper (shouldn't be too powerful) and keeper must catch the ball, not ward the ball.
2. Players do crossing from left/ right wing area and keeper must catch the ball (interrupt the crossing).
3. Players kick the ball harder and keeper try to catch the ball.
4. At this time, players do crossing again, but with heading and keeper must wrap it.
5. Every player kick the ball outside the penalty box and direct it to the direction that keeper can't wrap or catch; left top or right top corner of goalpost. In this training keeper practices to improve his reflex movement so he can response quickly and estimates ball's direction.
After this practice, keeper must be tested by his coach, and every training, coach must always test keeper whether his reflex movement already good or not. If needed, make notes and graphic about these.
In the real match, the back player shouldn't hinder keeper's sight, because keeper need high concentration to keep his goalpost. If the keeper is in center, the back player especially CB (Center Back), must keep right/ left position.
The important thing, try not to hinder keeper's sight.
